I wanted to take a moment and talk a little more about what I'm about and what this space is about. Primarily on this platform, I intend to publish articles in a few capacities; for the most part it'll break down into posts about notable gaming news, reviews and pre-reviews as well as articles that will put an emphasis on analysis of video games for the sake of analysis rather than to suggest whether or not it is worth playing and then, of course, there will be times I'll be writing outside these spheres as well.
I place a high value on building a platform that centers people who participate in gaming culture who typically face erasure. As such, this is an all-inclusive space. And I'll be talking about issues from game mechanics to issues in relation to identity.
Also a statement on ethics. I'm going to do my best to give credit where credit is due on this site. If there's ever an error, let me know and I'll fix it.
And that's about it but before I go, below I'll give a couple of previews of what's already on deck.
First up is a multiple part article addressing Zelda: Breath of the Wild and why it's so difficult to criticize. I'll be taking look into the power of nostalgia, aesthetics and trying to lay out one reasoning behind how and why BoTW got away with so much.
I'll also be doing a review of Persona 5 and for the Persona Series' 20th anniversary I'll be doing a study of the aesthetics of the Persona series and holding Persona 5 against the conventions of the past entries in a separate article.
I'm also going to write an article about how in my eyes, Bioware and Bethesda ain't shit. This one is going to take some doing.
Thaks for reading.
